Stützle signs 8-year, $66.8 million contract with Senators

Tim Stützle signed an 8-year, $66.8 million contract with the Ottawa Senators on 07 September. The contract has an average annual value of 8.35 million dollars.

The deal was announced Wednesday by general manager Pierre Dorion during the Senators' kickoff meeting for the 2022-23 season.

The 20-year-old forward would have become a restricted free agent after this season. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft had signed a three-year entry-level contract on Dec. 28.

During his rookie season in 2020/21, he totalled 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 53 games. In his first two NHL seasons, he scored 87 points (34 goals, 53 assists) in 132 games.
